This study is one which answers many of Dr. Rosenthal's criticisms of earlier work, and in part, it may be seen as an outgrowth of them. Dr. Kringlen's study is in the fine Scandinavian epidemiologic tradition. In addition, his research zeal is apparent in his search for the twins. As would be predicted from the Rosenthal paper, Dr. Kringlen finds much lower concordance rates for schizophrenia in monozygotic twins than those previously reported.
